Tina Stallard-Pearson

Tina Stallard-Pearson Head Florist at Daylesford Organic Farm, UK

In our final interview of the series, Tina discusses her life-long connection to nature and why she loves working outdoors.

As the creative force behind all things floral, Tina Stallard-Pearson’s unique designs can be seen throughout the farm at Kingham. “I come in at around eight o’clock, and will often be out foraging in the fields in the morning,” she explains, “there are large vases of foraged plants and materials all around Daylesford, and for those everything has to be seasonal.”

Responsible for overseeing the creation of everything from simple hand-tied bouquets to intricate floral displays, Tina regularly incorporates plants grown on the estate into her designs, using seasonal colours and textures to enhance them throughout the year.“As florists at Daylesford we work with nature in the same way as Jez, Head of the Market Garden does,” she says, “we’re trying to bring the outside in as much as possible, to make it feel a lot more connected to nature.”

Born into a family of farmers, and a life-long advocate of sustainable horticulture, Tina brings a breadth of experience to the Daylesford Organic team, including running her own floristry business. “I started as a junior florist and have been doing it ever since,” she says, “of course, as a country girl it seemed like a natural progression. I love working outdoors,” she continues, “I grew up on a farm so I like being cold."

We're trying to bring the outside in as much as possiblem to make it feel a lot more connected to nature.

Alongside her creative role, a keen eye for natural beauty makes her perfectly placed to lead some of the many floristry courses that Daylesford Organic Farm offers. With a large team of seven florists, it’s Tina’s aim to immerse her pupils in nature, allowing them to build a relationship with the landscape and use this to inform their designs. “What I try to do when I’m teaching is to get people to look at the way something grows,” she explains, “nature is very inspiring.”
